For this year’s FEI AGM panel discussion, we’re turning the tables on FEI President David Lamont. Rather than interviewing a panel of FEI Directors, David himself will be in the hot seat as the FEI Board puts its questions to him.

With David fresh from receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Australian CFO Awards, it’s the perfect time to uncover some of the lessons, insights and experiences he has gained along the way in his distinguished career.

David Lamont, FEI President

David was BHP’s Chief Financial Officer from 2020 to 2024 with responsibility for overseeing Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Risk and Internal Audit teams. David had previously held senior roles at BHP between 2001 and 2006, including Chief Financial Officer of its Carbon Steel Materials and Energy Coal businesses.

Prior to re-joining BHP in December 2020, David was the Chief Financial Officer of ASX-listed global biotech company CSL Limited and had also served in similar roles at Minerals and Metals Group, OZ Minerals Limited, PaperlinX Limited and Incitec Pivot Limited.

David is a Director of APA Group, Telstra Group Limited, Geelong Cats Foundation Pty Ltd and Epworth Medical Foundation, and President of the Financial Executives Institute of Australia.
